Record-holder marathoner Leonid Shvetsov will participate in International Chisinau Marathon
Leonid Shvetsov, former record-holder of marathon-distance race, double champion of the legendary “Comrades” ultramarathon, is coming to Chisinau for the fourth International Chisinau Marathon. On September 29, he will give a summarizing running lecture, and the next day, September 30, he will act as a pacemaker and will run barefoot along with Dmitri Voloshin the whole marathon distance (42 kilometers).
The lecture is due on Saturday, September 29, 15.00, on the Food Court territory (Great National Assembly Square). Everybody interested can come and listen to running tips from a real expert.
The sportsman has over 50 marathons under his belt, in 6 of which he has been a winner. Leonid Shvetsov is Master of International-class Sports in track and field (marathon running), Olympian in 1996 and 2004, author of the book "A guide to the world marathon majors".
Leonid continues to take part in marathons around the world as an amateur. He is a real example to follow, as confirmed by his incredible results in running competitions:

Currently Leonid Shvetsov is senior coach in his own running school. He conducts rational recreational running seminars for amateur runners. In Chisinau, on September 29, he will give a summarizing running lecture for everybody interested, followed by a question-and-answer session. The event will take place in the Great National Assembly Square, from 14.00 to 15:45.
Please be reminded that the Fourth Chisinau International Marathon will be held on September 30. Participants are offered several distances to choose from: marathon (42 km 195 m), half marathon (21 km 0975 m), 10 km and 5 km. It’s also possible to join the mass entertainment race "Fun Run" on the distance of 1.5 km. On September 29, as part of the marathon, Kids Run Day competition for children will be held.
